Celebrate Australia Day at the iconic Rockingham Foreshore. Join us for a free community event packed with fun for the whole family.

Highlights include a spectacular fireworks display at 8.30pm, two Bluey Live Interactive Experiences, live music by Diamond Road and First Offence, a dance performance by Bindjareb Middars, and other exciting stage acts. Enjoy roaming entertainment, children’s crafts and storytelling sessions with Milliyaan Aboriginal Services, face painting and henna, amusement rides, carnival games, food vendors and more.

This is a free entry, non-ticketed event.

Getting There

  • Public Transport: It’s a quick trip on Bus Route 555 between Rockingham Train Station and the foreshore. Additional bus services are running every 15 minutes from 6pm to 9.30pm for Celebrate Australia Day. Plan your commute with the Transperth JourneyPlanner.
  • Active Transport: See the current Your Move maps to help you travel to Rockingham Foreshore from the Central Rockingham Suburbs and Southern Suburbs. One side of the guide focuses on public transport and the other is for walking and cycling. ​Please note that bus and cycle routes may have changed since the initial publication of the maps.
  • Parking: If coming by car, see our helpful public parking map. All parking is free. Limited additional parking will be available at the Village Green from 4.30pm until full.
  • Road Closures: Please note that Rockingham Beach Road will be closed between Railway Terrace and Wanliss Street from 10am to 9.30pm and Kent Street will be closed from 7pm to 9.30pm, with detours in place.

Accessibility

  • There will be additional ACROD bays available in the Wanliss Street car park at the end of Bell Park.
  • An Auslan interpreter will be positioned on the main stage for all speeches and announcements.
  • The Chill Out Zone provides a low-sensory retreat for attendees with sensory sensitives. There will be noise cancelling headphones and tactile items available to borrow while in the space.
  • Public toilets, which include accessible toilets and a Changing Places facility, are available in Churchill Park near The Lookout.
  • Additional toilets will be available throughout the event site.
  • An MLAK key is needed to access the Changing Places facility. Please bring your own MLAK key or borrow one from the Event Information tent.

Bluey Live Interactive Experience

See Bluey and her little sister Bingo during their Live Interactive Experience at Celebrate Australia Day. Catch this adorable duo on the main stage for two performances at 5.30pm and 6.50pm. Get ready to play Magic Asparagus, Magic Xylophone, Keepy Uppy and more with your favourite Heelers.

    A photographer will be in attendance at this event capturing images for future City of Rockingham marketing and promotion. If you do not wish to be photographed, please make a City officer and/or photographer aware.

    Celebrate Australia Day is one of the City's major annual events and part of our Summer Series, a program of free entry, family-friendly events. The Summer Series provides an opportunity for the Rockingham community to connect and engage in fun, outdoor activities during the summer season.

    Visitors are encouraged not to smoke, vape or drink alcohol.
