About the Facilitators
Lyn Di Ciero has a wide experience in the visual arts over the past 40 years, from curator of Castaways since its inception in 2008, to publisher of the Artist’s Chronicle magazine since 1991, the longest-running independent visual arts magazine in Western Australia’s history and Artoble, the newly released free-to-download art finder App. She is a former visual arts feature writer for The West Australian, and a filmmaker with commissions including the Art Gallery of WA and St John of God Health Care where her documentaries feature on the first arts channel within a hospital in Western Australia.
Helen Curtis is the founder and director of art consultancy firm Apparatus, and formerly developed the City of Perth’s Public Art Program, Collection Management Program, Sponsorship Program and negotiated major cultural developments. Current projects include the ECU City Campus, Byford Rail Extension, and Hammersley Golf Course. Apparatus is a preferred provider of public art consultancy services to DevelopmentWA and the BMW Percent for Art Program. She provides advice to Curtin University’s Department of Humanities Industry Advisory Panel, and is a member of the National Trust's Monuments and Public Art Committee, the City of Stirling's Public Art Advisory Group, and the State Design Review Panel.
Greg James is one of Western Australia's finest sculptors with decades of experience who specialises in life-size bronze figures. He is renowned for his iconic public artwork, including The Fishermen, Bon Scott and Pietro Porcelli in Fremantle, and public artworks across Western Australia. His work is interactive and tactile, inviting participation from the public, and celebrates the beauty and sensuality of the human form, exploring concepts of the human condition. His studio was founded in 1993 and can be found in J-Shed, Fremantle, where a gallery displays local artists alongside his work.
