Volunteering Involving Organisations
We provide ongoing training opportunities for Volunteer Involving Organisations (VIOs) located within the City on various topics including governance, volunteer management and skill development. This training is available to all community groups, incorporated and non-incorporated organisations and clubs, including sporting clubs. Keep an eye on this page for upcoming training opportunities.
Corporate Volunteer Program - Expressions of Interest
We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from local VIOs who need one-off assistance to deliver a project or service.
Our Corporate Volunteer Program (CVP) can support a team of up to 24 or two teams of 12 City staff members to assist local VIOs in delivering their project or service to the community.
Do you have a project during April, July or November 2020 where you would require additional assistance to make it happen?
Complete an EOI form and submit it to us by 4.30pm Friday 31 January 2020.
2019 Volunteer Recognition Celebration
National Volunteer Week was celebrated on 20–26 May 2019. The theme was ‘Making a World of Difference'.
Volunteers are one of the most important resources that our City has. Their generosity contributes towards creating a strong community, and we are truly grateful for their hard work and determination.
During National Volunteer Week, our four libraries ran workshops and made gifts for local Rockingham volunteers. This included kokedama arrangements, mini floral posies, mini succulent gardens and card making.
The 2019 Volunteer Recognition Celebration was held on Thursday 23 May 2019 at the Gary Holland Community Centre. The celebration recognised those volunteers who were nominated by their local organisations. Organisations were requested to nominate one dedicated volunteer to attend the celebration as a way to acknowledge and demonstrate appreciation for the commitment they and their organisation show to the Rockingham community. Fifty-four nominations were received during the nomination period.
