2019 City of Rockingham Art Awards

Exploring the theme: Space

The 2019 City of Rockingham Art Awards attracted over 195 artwork entries across seven categories: Youth, Local, 3D, Emerging, Heritage, Indigenous and Open. 89 of those entries are currently being exhibited at the Gary Holland Community Centre and Rockingham Arts CentreThis free exhibition will run until Sunday 19 May 2019 from 10am–3pm daily. Come and view the exhibition across the two facilities and vote for your favourite piece in the People’s Choice Award.


Winners of each category were announced on Saturday 4 May 2019, with over $20,000 worth of acquisitive and non-acquisitive prizes being awarded. Congratulations to the winners and all artists involved. Images are available in the gallery below.

Twilight Events

Join us at the 2019 City of Rockingham Art Awards Twilight Events on Wednesday 8 and 15 May. Curator of the 2019 Art Awards, Jude van der Merwe, will lead a tour of the exhibition providing insight into the winning artworks. Visitors can also enjoy live music and light refreshments. The Twilight Events start at the Rockingham Arts Centre from 5.30pm, with tours running from 6pm–7pm. No RSVP necessary. Don’t miss out on these free and unique events.
