Baldivis Skate Park

The City of Rockingham's Youth Services team is committed to assisting the social, emotional, psychological and physical development of young people by providing a professional youth-friendly service addressing the needs of young people.

The Youth Services team provides programs and services tailored to the needs of young people.

Rockingham Outreach Youth Service (ROYS) and Youth Outreach in Warnbro and Southern Areas (YOWSA)

The ROYS and YOWSA services offer support, advocacy, referral and information for 12-25 year olds living in areas north of the Safety Bay roundabout for the ROYS team, and south from Warnbro to Singleton and east to Baldivis for the YOWSA team.

ROYS and YOWSA are available at the City of Rockingham Administration Building, Monday to Friday, 2pm to 5pm. Information, referral or advocacy is provided during these times regarding issues including but not limited to:

  • Case management
  • Mental health
  • Financial issues
  • Health
  • Sexual health
  • Legal issues
  • Accommodation and homelessness
  • Substance and alcohol issues
  • Employment and training
  • Education
  • Recreation

Other services offered include:

  • School/Education Centre Outreach Service: Information, support, referral and advocacy to young people at local high schools.  Contact Student Services at individual high schools for an appointment.
  • Headspace Youth Worker Service: Information, support, referral and advocacy to young people at Headspace Rockingham.  Contact Headspace on 6595 8888 or hello@headspacerock.com for an appointment.

Community Development Officer (Youth)

The Community Development Officer (Youth) provides young people and their families with early intervention and prevention workshops, information sessions and forums and community events in local education and community settings regarding a variety of issues including:

  • Mental health
  • Suicide prevention
  • Resilience
  • Sexual health
  • Bullying
  • Respectful relationships
  • Anger/aggression
  • Finances
  • Legal issues
  • Drug and alcohol use
  • Safe partying
  • Cyber safety

Youth programs and activities

Our programs and services focus on building resilience in young people, encouraging the development of a more positive image of young people within the City, and developing sustainable projects and programs that engage greater numbers of young people.
