City of Rockingham Health and Wellbeing Profile (May 2016)


The City of Rockingham Health and Wellbeing Profile was produced by the South Metropolitan Public Health Unit and the Department of Health WA. The profile demonstrates that the City of Rockingham plays a significant role in creating an environment for communities to prosper and enjoy good health. It influences many aspects of community life which contribute to health and wellbeing, e.g. urban planning, parks and facilities, transport, social support and community participation. The information in this profile will help to inform Council, the public, partners and other stakeholders about how well the local population is faring, and provide the City of Rockingham with the evidence required to plan effectively for the health and wellbeing of the local community.

GP After Hours

Rockingham's GP Afterhours Clinic operates Monday to Friday 6pm to 8am, Saturday 12pm - 8am, Monday morning, and 24 hours a day on public holidays.

Dial-a-Doctor is a free service for residents of Perth (from Alkimos to Dawesville) where a doctor will to come to your home if you are unwell.

The service operates weeknights, weekends and public holidays from 4pm - 8am. The service is free to people who have a Medicare card or a Veterans Affairs Card as they are bulk billed.

Social Connector

Baldivis Book Club

Do you love reading, but don't have anyone to discuss your book with? Why not join a local book club? The Baldivis Book Club meets every fourth Tuesday of the month at the Mary Davies Library and Community Centre, 17 Settlers Avenue, Baldivis.

Come along from 11am - 12pm and meet a great bunch of people and discuss some interesting books. For further information please contact the City on 9528 0333.


Luncheon Group

Do you want to get out, and try some of the local restaurants and cafes and make new friends at the same time? Come along to the luncheon group once a month and enjoy some of Rockingham's local food. Alzheimers Support Group

Meets every second Wednesday of the month, from 1pm - 4pm at the Autumn Centre, McNichol Street, Rockingham.

Cancer Support Group

Meets every Thursday from 10am - 12pm at the Autumn Centre, McNichol Street, Rockingham.

Rockingham/Peel Cancer Support Group (CCWA)

Support groups offer a confidential, supportive place to share experiences, learn from and connect with, others affected by cancer.  The Rockingham/Peel group meets fortnightly on a Wednesday. For more information, please visit the group's website or contact Melanie Taylor on 9591 3118.
