Residential Waste / Recycling Collection Service - Download 2009/2010 Calendar & Recycling Bin Guidelines

Use the street database to find out when your next collection dates are for waste, recycling, green waste and bulk waste verge collections.

Type in your street name below and click on Go to proceed. A new window will contain the requested collection dates.

Public Holidays: There are no changes to your collection day on all public holidays.

Need a new rubbish bin?

To obtain a new rubbish bin or to get your bin repaired, please contact the City's Waste & Recycling Facility on 9528 8550. If you are requesting a new bin please allow 7 days notice for your new bin to be available.

What time should these bins be placed on your verge by?

Waste and recycling bins should be put out on verge before 6:00am on the day of service.

Regulations

The weight your bin cannot exceed is 70kg. Unfortunately if your bin is above this weight it cannot be emptied. Please attempt to maintain a distance of one (1) metre from fences, walls and cars.

To find out times, guidelines and dates for your area contact the Waste & Recycling Facility on 9528 8550. Also keep an eye out in the local newspapers as dates will also be advertised two weeks before collection commences.

Junk and Whitegoods/Metals Collection

Please do NOT place green waste out for this collection as it will not be collected. The following items WILL be collected:

This item will be collected. Whitegoods (Stoves, fridges (remove doors) etc)

This item will be collected. Scrap

This item will be collected. Timber (up to 1.5 metres in length)

This item will be collected. General junk

Bulk Rubbish is to be placed on the verge in TWO piles (maximum pile length and width is a 2 metre square) without obstructing footpaths which will be collected by a separate truck for recycling. The FIRST pile is to contain white goods and all metal products and the SECOND pile is to contain all other materials complying with the collection criteria.

The following items WILL NOT be removed:

No GREENWASTE

No paints, chemicals, oils

No asbestos products

No bricks or sand

No food stuff

No stumps or palm logs

No car bodies or half bodies

No tyres

No gas cylinders

No batteries

Residential Green Waste Verge Collection Guidelines

Please do not place bulk waste items out for this collection as they will not be collected.

The following items WILL be collected:

This item will be collected. Tree and shrub prunings up to 1.5 metres in length and 300mm in diameter

This item will be collected. TWO trailer loads (6x4 trailer size) or 2 cubic metres.

The following items WILL NOT be removed with Green Waste:

Stumps and palm logs

Weeds and root material

Sand and soil materials

Dug out lawn

Loose leaves and lawn clippings (Place in a plastic bag and deposit in green mobile garbage bin)

General rubbish, junk or whitegoods

Larger than two trailer loads (6x4 trailer size)

General Guidelines

PLEASE DO

This item will be collected. Place your waste neatly on the verge NO MORE THAN SEVEN (7) days prior to the scheduled start date for your Area.

This item will be collected. Place your waste on the verge by Monday 6:00am on the scheduled start date for your Area as the contractor will only check your verge once.

This item will be collected. Allow 5 - 7 working days for Areas 1, 2 and 3 to be collected.

This item will be collected. Allow 10 -14 working days for Areas 4 and 5 to be collected.

 

PLEASE DO NOT

Put objects in piles larger than 2 metres by 2 metres.

Obstruct the footpath.

Obstruct your normal waste and recycling bin services.

The line of sight of pedestrians, cyclists or cars.

Place your waste inside your property line or behind fences.

Place your waste on other verges as it will not be collected from vacant properties, land or public reserves.

Tie your greenwaste in bundles.

Where to place your bulk pickup materials

As verge collections are picked up by mechanical means, please avoid placing your bulk rubbish next to:

Trees

Power poles

Walls

Street signs

Sprinklers or water meters (as these may be damaged).
