Proposed Council Policy - Single Use Plastic and Balloons

Following the resolution at the February Ordinary Council meeting, the Draft Single Use Plastic and Balloons Council Policy is now available for public comment.

Recognising the adverse impacts of single use plastics on the marine environment, the policy aims to provide controls to minimise disposable plastics. Instead compostable or reusable alternatives will be required by those affected by the policy.

The City has also prepared an educational Turn the Tide on Plastic Guideline for anyone wishing to minimise their plastic use.
