East Rockingham Dog Beach

Page index

You are invited to provide feedback on the proposed change in restrictions relating to the East Rockingham Dog Beach. The changes are designed to reduce the risk of incidents occurring as a result of the competing use of the beach at this location, and to address community feedback received during the City’s recent review of dog beaches.

Current restrictions

Horses

The exercising of horses is permitted north of the grain terminal jetty located on Rockingham Beach Road from sunset to 10am and they are permitted to swim only until 12pm.

Dogs

Dogs are permitted to be exercised off-leash at all times.

Proposed restrictions

Horses

No change is proposed.

Dogs

It is proposed to introduce a sign-posted restriction where dogs would be required to be on a lead north of the grain terminal jetty located on Rockingham Beach Road from sunset to 12pm.

South of the grain terminal jetty would remain as an off-leash dog exercise area at all times as is currently in place.
