Baldivis District Sporting Complex Master Plan

Page index

Background

Baldivis is experiencing rapid growth, especially in the number of young families living in the area. This creates a high demand for sport and recreation facilities because they play an important role in providing opportunities for social interaction and skill building, and creating stronger, safer and more inclusive communities.

The City purchased a 20 hectare site on Eighty Road to develop the Baldivis District Sporting Complex (BDSC), which will provide for sports club training and competition, as well as public recreation space for the community.

Master Plan

The BDSC Master Plan is the document that summarises all the site layout considerations, including developing in an environmentally sensitive way and retaining the current amenity where possible. It includes a site layout showing the location of all the facilities that will be on the site, and building concept designs. The facilities and amenities will include:

  • approximately eight hectares of playing fields
  • a district pavilion
  • 18 outdoor hard courts
  • a junior pavilion
  • a three-court indoor recreation centre with café and multipurpose community spaces
  • an outdoor recreation space; and
  • a retained natural bushland area.

Aerial view of three full size ovals, a smaller oval, club rooms, parking and 18 netball courts.
