From mid-June till late October several major roadworks will be underway in Baldivis.
Nairn Drive (Safety Bay Rd to Clyde Ave)
There will be no long-term detours for this project as it involves the construction of a new carriageway (southbound) adjacent to the existing carriageway. There will be minor impacts to traffic on Safety Bay Road, Addison Avenue and Clyde Avenue at various times to tie-in the new carriageway to these intersections. There may be intermittent short-term closures during these works, however these will be resolved as quickly as possible.
Baldivis Road (Makybe Dr to Highbury Blvd)
This section of road will need to be closed to traffic during the project to allow the demolition of the existing carriageway and subsequent construction of the new boulevard-style carriageway.
The works are scheduled to commence on Monday 8 August and will take approximately 12 weeks to complete. The main detour for Baldivis Road traffic will be along Makybe Drive / Delta Road / Hillsborough Avenue/Highbury Boulevard, with a secondary detour for local traffic east of Baldivis Road (as shown on Detour Map 1).
The intersection of Claret Ash Boulevard/Baldivis Road will also be closed to traffic (as shown on Detour Map 2).
Where possible, motorists and heavy-vehicles using Baldivis Road as a through-route are encouraged to seek alternate routes (such as Kwinana Freeway, Nairn Drive, Eighty Road or Mandurah Road) during the works to reduce the impact on residents living on the detour roads as a result of the additional traffic on these roads.
Please note that these anticipated timelines are subject to favourable weather conditions and Contractor availability.
