Recent Perth storms/flooded streets

10/02/2017

Perth has experienced a significant amount of rainfall in the past 24 hours. It has been the second wettest February day on record.

There was 114mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours. This equates to a one in 50 year rainfall event.

Storm water drains are typically designed to cater for up to one in 20 year rainfall events. In such circumstances, the road network forms part of the overland flow path.

With more rainfall expected this weekend, more flooding of the road network within the City is expected. The City would like to advise all of its residents to take care when driving on flooded roads. Please contact the City on 9528 0333 to report sections of road that have significant and sustained localised flooding.
