Queen’s Baton Relay – Parking and Road Closures


After an epic journey that commenced in March last year on the steps of Buckingham Palace, the Queen’s Baton Relay will be rolling through the City of Rockingham on Friday 23 February, on its way to the Gold Coast for the 21st Commonwealth Games in April.

Rolling road closures will be occurring in two stages along the Queen’s Baton Relay route.

Stage 1: from 3.30pm to 5pm
Arcadia Drive (northbound only) closed from Penguin Rd.
Boundary Road (eastbound only) closed. 
Detours will be in in place.

Stage 2: from 5pm to 5.30pm
Hymus Street (northbound only) closed from Parkin Street,
Esplanade Rd (eastbound only) closed from Hymus Street to Val St.
Detours will be in place.

The southbound and westbound lanes will still be open throughout the closures.

Parking will be available at
- Mersey Point Car park
- Lions Park Reserve
- Corner of Arcadia Drive and Boundary Rd
- Rotary Park
- Gary Holland Community Centre

Spectators are invited to join in the Community Celebration event at Churchill Park, Rockingham Beach Rd from 4.30pm. There will be live performances, free children’s activities, and a sausage sizzle. The Queen's Baton will be at the community event from 5.30 to 6pm.
