Pedal Powered Entertainment

About 70 attendees converged on Wilson Park (next to Safety Bay Library) to celebrate Children’s Week 2017 (21-29 October) with a pedal powered outdoor cinema screening of Toy Story (G).

Attendees at the outdoor cinema were asked to help keep the show running by taking a turn on one of 15 stationary bikes, which generated enough power to screen the movie Toy Story (G).  A minimum of 10 bikes were required to be in operation to keep the screen running.

The City of Rockingham Mayor, Barry Sammels, said it was a fun quirky night of entertainment: “This was something different for the community, a fun take on sustainability with the stationary bikes and a nice way to mark Children’s Week 2017.

“Thank you to all our pedallers, who braved rough weather, and thanks to Jonathon Thwaites who provided the pedal powered bicycles for the event.”
