LitterBusters in the Mix

The City of Rockingham’s LitterBusters service was a finalist in the AIM WA WestBusiness Pinnacle Awards on 19 November.

The Awards showcase outstanding business leadership and achievements by Western Australian companies, not-for-profit organisations and government departments.

The City was a finalist in two categories – Marketing Excellence and Customer Service Excellence - for the way LitterBusters has been promoted and delivered to the community.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said he was enormously proud of the City’s achievement with LitterBusters. “To be in the top six finalists in two of the eight categories was a great achievement, especially when you consider the depth and calibre of the competition.  We were in the mix with some of the State’s top private and public sector organisations and I was really proud to hear the City of Rockingham read out on two separate occasions as a finalist.”

He said LitterBusters continues to be a highly utilised service with upwards of one hundred reports per month resulting in more effective targeting of litter than ever before.  The Mayor also gave kudos to team mascot, Stan the Can, for his work in marketing the anti-litter message to the community.
