Called Rock Port, the portal will enable residents and ratepayers to connect with the City anywhere, anytime using any PC, tablet or mobile device.
They will be able to use Rock Port to set up their own profile and receive information about topics that interest them, opt in to receive electronic versions of the City’s regular publications, and even check and pay their rates account. They will also be able to have input into important issues and future projects to help shape the City’s future, as well as rate how happy they are to be living in the City on a happiness index.
Mayor Barry Sammels said the City was leading the way in local government with Rock Port, which was fully integrated with the City’s information systems network.
“Keeping in touch with the City, and receiving information you want about the many different things we are doing, is now easier than ever, thanks to Rock Port,” Mayor Sammels said. “Whether you want to check your rates balance, receive publications via email, have a specific request or share your thoughts on a new project, Rock Port is the easiest way to do it.”
“Rock Port will be the City’s key community engagement tool so I encourage everyone to register so they can have access to a wide range of information that is specially targeted for them,” Mayor Sammels said. “There are a lot of exciting things planned for the City and Rock Port will be the way to stay up to date and have your say. Plus, there is the chance to win a great cash prize of $5000 just for being involved.”
