The City of Rockingham operates four diverse libraries with combined resources of over 200,000 items.
Library items are supplied to the Rockingham community by the State Library of Western Australia, the City of Rockingham and the Department of Education.
Library membership is free and open to all members of the community.
Your library card gives you access to services and facilities at all four branches.
To join the library you can:
- Complete the application form at one of the libraries, or download and print the form below and take it to the library
- Provide photographic ID showing your current address
- Or join online to obtain a temporary membership which will give you access to our online services
Children under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardian to attend the library with them to complete the membership.
Students of Warnbro Community High School will be issued a library card on enrolment.
You will need to present your membership card in order to borrow items or to use the eLibrary facilities.
A large range of items is available from the libraries. Collection for adults and children include:
- Books - in ordinary or large print
- Audio books
- eReaders (Safety Bay Library, Mary Davies Library and Community Centre)
- Books in languages other than English (LOTE)
You may borrow a total of 20 items on your library card for a period of four weeks. Items should be returned to the branch from which they were borrowed, on or before the due back date. If you are unable to return your items by the due date, items may be renewed twice (unless they have been requested by another patron). Renewals can be made in person, by telephone or via online services.
After-hours returns chutes are available at Rockingham Central Library and at the Mary Davies Library and Community Centre.
Items currently on loan or located at another branch can be requested. You can request items in person, by telephone or online via online services.
Items not available at the City of Rockingham Libraries can be requested through the state-wide Inter-Library Lending Scheme. Requests can be made via Interlibrary loan request form, in person or by calling your local library.
You will be notified when items are ready for collection.
A courtesy notice will be sent by email three days before your items are due. Items not returned within 10 days of the due date will be subject to an overdue notice and suspension of borrowing rights until the items are either returned or, if lost, have been paid for.
If items are still not returned following the overdue notice a tax invoice will be posted for payment and debt recovery actions may be taken.
Care of Items
Please treat the items you have borrowed with care. Damage caused while on loan to you may incur a charge.
