Library Opening Hours Survey

Your feedback is important in shaping the future of your library service. You can complete our online survey and have your say on library opening hours. The survey closes 31 January 2019.

Housebound Library Service

Residents who are physically unable to visit their local library, either temporarily or permanently, are able to apply to have library items delivered to their house. The service is also available to live-in carers and to people whose partner, relative or friend who would normally drive them to the library is away on holiday or unavailable.

The service makes deliveries to each reader once a month, with members permitted to borrow up to 20 items at one time. We provide a wide range of books in normal print and large print, audio books, magazines and DVDs, as well as free downloadable e-books and e-audiobooks.

Residents who would like to join the service are encouraged to submit an application form at any of the City’s libraries. Visit our Memberships page to download the application form.

Sing with Me

The State Library’s literacy program, Better Beginnings, has been successfully catering to babies and pre-schoolers for several years. Now, two year olds will be able to join in the fun with their own specially created Sing With Me pack. City of Rockingham Libraries are excited to offer the new bags that focus on sharing well-known nursery rhymes to develop an early love of literacy.

Each pack comes in a bright orange backpack and includes a Sing With Me booklet, a music CD, fridge magnets, and ‘Knick Knack Bushwack’, a beautiful book by Mandy Foot. Made possible with the support of Rio Tinto, the program promotes the key message that parents are their children’s first teacher, and encourages parents and carers to read and sing to their children every day.
