The City of Rockingham’s annual Australia Day celebrations are to be held on Tuesday 26 January 2009 from 11:00am – 4:00pm.
“Australia Day is a chance for us to celebrate everything that makes Australia and in particular Rockingham, a great place to live, work and play.” says Mayor Barry Sammels.
“We hope that families will come down and enjoy a great evening of entertainment and join with us as we celebrate Australia Day.”
Churchill Park will come alive from 11:00am with the sounds of Rockingham Children’s Choir, the Rockingham Pipe Band as well as local boy Matt Gresham and popular band Men and their sheds. The Wadumbah Dance Group will open the event with a spectacular traditional dance show and Rockingham Council for the Arts and Crafts will again host their popular art and craft market.
Kids can also get their face painted by Rosie O, get a tattoo, play balloon twister or create Art Brellas.
