Our Community's Vision for the Future
Date Published: 11/05/2011
The community, in partnership with Council has developed a clear and powerful vision for the future of the City of
Rockingham under its new ten year Strategic Community Plan.
This vision will guide and assist us with our continuing journey in leading Rockingham’s evolution into one
of the safest, most liveable and sustainable Cities in the nation.
The City is the first Local Government in Western Australia to produce a fully integrated Community Plan, based on the Minister for Local Government's Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework and Guidelines, which were released in October 2010.
The City's activities and services for the future will be determined by our community’s needs and aspirations. This is why the City invited 4000 households to participate in our Planning for the Future workshops. The workshop outcomes formed the basis of our Community Plan.
The Community Plan sets out the community’s 16 priority Aspirations for the City for the next 10 years. The community’s Aspirations are organised under four Key Focus Areas including:
• Community
• Infrastructure and Services
• Environment and Land Use; and
• Civic Leadership.
