Celebrating Rockingham Awards

The City last night hosted the Celebrating Rockingham Awards 2011, which offer a unique opportunity to recognise and celebrate the contribution and achievements of individuals, groups and organisations for their work in developing a strong, connected, healthy and safe Rockingham community.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels welcomed nominators and finalists to the awards presentation:
“Our community has told us they want to be a proud welcoming and inclusive community that understands, respects and preserves its unique sense of purpose and place.
“All of the nominees here tonight, in some way have contributed to making this powerful vision for the future a step closer to reality.
“This is achieved through the efforts of individuals, groups and organisations working together. All those people and organisations represented here tonight exemplify this passion for and commitment to the Rockingham community.
“I would like to thank our generous sponsors, Stockland, National Lifestyle Villages, BHP Billiton, Kwinana Industries Council, Rockingham Shopping Centre, National Lifestyle Villages, Act Belong Commit, the Neighbourhood Watch State Office, Castlerock and ASCert Australia Pty Ltd for their support of these awards.
