Apprentice, graduate and trainee program
Introduction
The City of Rockingham is committed to offering a number of opportunities to recent graduates and school leavers, giving them the chance to develop their theoretical knowledge and gain some practical experience in the career of their choice.
We have accepted graduates or interns in a variety of disciplines, including:
- Recreation and culture
- Statutory planning
- Environmental planning
- Environmental health.
The City also employs several trainees and apprentices in a variety of areas.
An apprentice participates in a training program combining work and structured training and is generally a four year programme. On completion of your apprenticeship you will be a qualified tradesperson with a variety of options available to you. Some of the areas you can work in include:
- Heavy duty mechanic
- Horticulture and turf management.
Our traineeship program are generally run for one year and include on the job training and assessment to gain a recognised Certificate in Business. We have offered traineeships in the following areas:
- Records management
- Building services
- Engineering and parks
- Accounting services
