Applications for citizenship

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) deals with all citizenship applications.  Telephone 131 880.

The Council is not informed of your application until it has been approved by DIAC so no information on the application is available from the City of Rockingham Council.

The ceremony

• Rockingham Council holds citizenship ceremonies on the first Monday of each month, except January. The January ceremony is held on Australia Day.
• When your certificate is received you will be allocated the next place at one of the coming ceremonies.
• Private ceremonies with the Mayor are only granted in extenuating circumstances and are considered on a case-by-case basis. Enquiries for a private ceremony can be made to the Mayor's Secretary.
• Invitations to the ceremonies are sent out approximately three weeks prior to the event.
• Dress for the ceremonies is smart casual.

• Monday, 6 February at 5:30pm
• Tuesday, 6 March at 5:30pm
• Wednesday, 7 March at 5:30pm
• Monday, 2 April at 5:30pm 
• Monday, 7 May at 5:30pm 
• Tuesday, 8 May at 5:30pm
• Tuesday 5 June at 5:30pm
• Wednesday, 6 June at 5:30pm
• Monday, 2 July at 5:30pm
• Monday, 6 August at 5:30pm
• Monday, 3 September at 5:30pm
• Tuesday, 4 September at 5:30pm
• Tuesday, 2 October at 5:30pm
• Monday, 5 November at 5:30pm
• Monday, 26 November at 5:30pm
• No ceremonies in December
