Since 1997 the City of Rockingham Sports Star Awards has marked an annual celebration of outstanding achievements within the Rockingham sporting community. The City takes great pride in recognising and rewarding the achievements of local sporting individuals and teams.

2018 awards

The 2018 City of Rockingham Sports Star Awards ceremony will be held at the Gary Holland Community Centre on Thursday 20 September 2018.

​Celebrating its 22nd anniversary, the awards have recognised international, national, state, regional and local competition level champions from Rockingham.  The value of sport and recreation in the Rockingham community cannot be over emphasised. ​This is why the City of Rockingham continues to recognise the achievements of local sports people and volunteers. 


The categories for the 2018 Sport Star Awards are:

  • Club of the Year
  • Team/Squad of the Year
  • Senior Sportsperson of the Year
  • Junior Sportsperson of the Year
  • Sportsperson of the Year with Disability
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • John Brown Lifetime Achievement Memorial Award

2018 Nominations 

Nominations are now open for the 2018 Sports Star Awards. 

​Do you know a Rockingham resident, team or club that has excelled in their chosen sport, or a sports volunteer who deserves to be recognised?
Nominations for the awards close at 4.30pm on Monday 30 July 2018.
