Introduction

Planning policies are the adopted position of the Council on various planning matters which either expands on the requirements in the Town Planning Scheme or provides direction on those matters where the scheme enables the Council to exercise discretion.

All planning applications will be assessed against the relevant criteria contained within the scheme and policies.

Planning procedures are intended to set out statutory requirements and provide guidelines/procedures regarding administrative requirements for certain aspects of the planning process.

The Council also prepares information sheets and checklist to provide guidance and assistance to applicants.
