Apprenticeship, graduate and traineeship program
The City of Rockingham is committed to offering a number of opportunities to recent graduates and school leavers, giving them the chance to develop their theoretical knowledge and gain some practical experience in the career of their choice.
We have graduates or interns in a variety of disciplines, including:
- Recreation and culture
- Statutory planning
- Environmental planning
- Environmental health.
The City also employs several trainees and apprentices in a variety of areas.
An apprentice participates in a training program, usually of four years' duration, combining work and structured training. On completion of your apprenticeship you will be a qualified tradesperson with a variety of options available to you. Some of the areas you can work in include:
- Heavy and light duty mechanics
- Horticulture, turf management.
All apprenticeship and graduate programs will be advertised on our Current Job Vacancies page when they become available.
Our traineeship program runs for one year and includes on-the-job training and assessment to gain a recognised Certificate III in Business. We offer traineeships in the following areas:
- Asset Services
- Community Development
- Engineering Services
- Human Resource Development
- Parks Services.
